Happy in Cambodia

Are you happy today?

I don’t know about you but my family is. Joyful laughter flowed during our dinner table tonight as we shared about the happy moments that happened in Cambodia. Serena suggested that we write them down and vote for the best four and draw them on a large sheet of paper. After series of secret votes with our eyes closed, here are four things that made it to the final list.

  • Swimming day when we celebrated Serena’s 8th birthday (first birthday celebration in Cambodia).
  • The day when daddy pulled out Reina’s first tooth and we learned that tooth fairy comes even to Cambodia.
  • The day we moved into a new home in Cambodia.
  • The day internet finally got connected and we watched Netflix!

These were the ones that got most votes and were selected for our drawing board. We all had to take a block and draw our assigned drawing. I got the Netflix block and Janice got the swimming day. Serena chose to draw about Reina’s lost tooth and Reina asked Mommy to draw for her because she wanted to dance to the music instead. Serena decided to title the drawing board, “Happy in Cambodia.”

It doesn’t take much to be happy. Sometimes it’s not how much you have or how much you’ve achieved. Perhaps happiness is just being with the people you love and cherishing every moment of it.

I am so happy that my family is with me in Cambodia. Wishing happiness to everyone!

Be joyful always... give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (1Th.5:16,18)
