A few days ago, a good friend of mine unexpectedly passed on to eternity and I was invited to lead the celebration of his life. The service also reminded me that I’m living in this temporal world very short time and then move on when God calls me.
Years ago, I read a book entitled “One Month to Live” (by Kerry Shook). Rev. Kerry says in his book that one of the biggest mistakes of people in this world is that they often don’t think that their life will really end some day. Because they are not aware of the fact it’s all going to end one day, many suffer from something called the “Someday syndrome.” Someday, I’ll spend more time with my children… Someday, I will be a better husband… Someday, I’ll call that person and restore relationship… and many more.
However, we don’t have enough time. Truly we don’t. When the time ceases, you have no option but to move on. If you are like me… If you ever had “someday” plans in your heart, please don’t wait. We don’t live for “someday.” We live for today!
“So teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart.” (Psalm 90:12)
